Welcome 2021

Updates from ADT to kick off 2021

Happy New Year from the Team at ADT

HTML clipboard If you are anything like us, you will be pleased to be putting 2020 behind you and starting fresh with some hope and enthusiasm for 2021. Of course, 2021 will bring its own set of challenges, and I thought we might touch on some technology recommendations for the New Year in this email. But first:

ADT has moved

HTML clipboard In line with our remote working initiatives, ADT has decided to move our Dubai office. As many of our staff choose to work frequently from their homes (or different countries), and as our company moves away from on premise servers to cloud based services, the needs for our office has changed. We are now more centrally located to our customers in Business Bay with better services, meeting facilities, parking and transportation links. See our website for details.

Why the Cloud is Critical

HTML clipboard In the past 5 years ADT is embraced Cloud services for their simplicity, reliability, scalability and resilience. It was also a stroke of luck, with cloud services being central to our operations, that we were able to continue in Covid lockdowns with only minor changes. The remote working requirements of Covid have accelerated the migration of many organisations to Cloud based services; but many of those were immediate reactionary requirements and organisations are yet to see the full benefits. This year is a good time to take another look at your business system and infrastructure to see what further benefits cloud services can bring.

Cyber Security is getting worse

2020 has been a big year for Cybercrime and its only getting worse. Big hacks started in February this year with Estee Lauder, Garmin, Twitter and now the Solarwinds vulnerability exposing access to US Government Agencies, McDonald’s, Visa, Mastercard and large Telecom providers.

HTML clipboard As smaller organisations we may not be subject to the same complexity of hacks, but opportunistic hacking activity has increased in the order of 400% in 2020. Covid has added the X factor in many of these established cybercrimes, where the fast transition to remote working often lacked security and workers in transition are more likely to fall for phishing scams. ADT is encouraging our customers to take another look at security this year. Consider remote access security, Cloud services or backups, multi factor authentication, confidential data security, and keep your users updated on good security practices.

Moving with the times

HTML clipboard 2020 has been a difficult and busy year. And while Covid has been causing havoc, technology is marching on. In addition to the great benefits of embracing Cloud Solutions; technologies such as Video Conferencing, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Contact Less solutions are now main-stream. If your business functions are heavy on the use of spreadsheets, legacy applications or printing pages; you could greatly benefit from a streamlined business system. These are not as complex and costly as they once were. While they can quickly provide efficiency benefits in operations; having a single dashboard to keep track of all aspects of the business brings the greatest peace of mind.

Once again thank you for your continued support and wishing you all the best for 2021. If you want to discuss your technology systems please feel free to make contact.
