ICE is an Internet Component Engines that consists of a series of web based modules which, working together, provide a variety of pre-built and extendable applications that operate on the internet, intranets and extranets.

ICE applications are built on Windows and can be used both within organisations or, once placed on the internet, made available worldwide without modification.

ICE applications have the following key features:

• Look & Feel is controlled by templates and CSS. These can be modified by the customer and have an immediate impact for all users of the system.
• Heavily parameter driven so that many changes do not require any coding.
• Applications do not need to be downloaded to end users who only need web access to the application server.
• Applications will run on Windows based web server and no client licenses are required to access the applications.
• Applications can be extended either through additional ICE Modules, creating new custom modules or by adding new applications built with other tools and in other languages. The system is this very open to enhancement and modification by third parties.
• There is a similarity of operation between the various modules so that it is easy for users to understand how the different applications work once they have got used to one application.
• A user name and password based security system is used across the board by all the applications allowing centralised management of who can access what regardless of the number of modules added to an installation.
• The use of the same modules, which have been tried and tested, in different configurations for each application helps ensure the reliability of each new application. This reduces the implementation timeframe.
